Diaper Changing Commentary

So last night Abbi had a pretty bad diaper. I luckily called "not it" before Josh did, so he had the privilege of changing it. He's pretty peticular about how he does some things. It takes him about 3-4 minutes just to change her diaper, and always has some comment(s) to make. So I was laying on the couch, when I hear:

"Whoa Abbi! You laid a sausage patti..."

wait about 30 seconds...

"I'm so glad I got this one hot and fresh..."

wait a little more...

"We should get you a sign that says 'Hot N Fresh' like Krispy Kreme..."

I about died laughing from his commentary. I'm sure there was more but I was laughing too hard. He sure has an interesting point of view sometimes...

All By Myself

It's Sunday night and I'm laying on the couch all by myself, not counting Baxter. "Why am I alone?" you might ask... I'm sick and Josh took Abbi to eat Sunday dinner at his parents. I'm just realizing that he didn't take Baxter, which we normally do. Hmmm...

Anywho, let me start off by saying this darn baby is just kicking my butt! I don't remember really being this sick with Abbi or unisom not helping me sleep. It remember I had to change my diet to ONLY healthy stuff and I was fine, and about 4/5 months I had a hard time sleeping and unisom worked perfect, but not this time around. I lay on the couch most of the day, counting the hours until Josh is home from work. I started to really feel better this week, hardly any nausea, fatigue, getting a good nights sleep and then Saturday hit. La toilette is my new BFF after just about every meal!!

It's starting to get discouraging as I look around at my messy house and I feel there is nothing I can do about it. I'm also extremely irritated. The stupidest things just really make me mad. Dumb drivers (but I'm quicker to anger), Baxter after he gets a drink he smells really bad and feels the need to lay on me or close to me, the lady in front of me at the McDonald's drive-thru who acts likes she's never been through a drive-thru and doesn't understand that the pregnant lady behind her just ordered a ice cream cone and is about to ram her vehicle if she doesn't move, other pregnant women telling me they feel fine, I could go on and on... but I'm not. I explained this all to Josh and he is being extremely understanding and is trying to help me not kill anyone. He also is helping out a lot around the house. I'm so glad he is done with school for a few more weeks.

To sum it up...this pregnancy is just different... and I hope it a boy with all the crap I'm putting up with :O)

Abbi, however, is usually wonderful. I just close the bedroom/bathroom doors and put up a gate to the side room and she is perfectly content playing and destroying our family room and kitchen. I think she knows that I'm not at my best and she is very loving. She'll bring me a blanket if I'm laying on the couch without one (I don't even ask, she just does it). She loves giving hugs and kisses. She's talking more and if I need a good laugh I turn on Yo Gabba Gabba and watch her interact with the show. She dances to the songs and knows how to do most of the dances. Its pretty cute!

She was actually sick this past week and I think she gave me a bug (I'm hoping its a bug and not recurring pregnancy sickness). It started Monday with her waking up and throwing up in her crib. She was fine the rest of the day, a little lethargic, but pretty normal. Then she threw up twice Tuesday (at 4:30am and then after breakfast), then Wednesday and finally Thursday (at 3:30am). It was just kinda weird and gross. I was proud to say that I didn't throw up at the sight or smell!! We took her to the doctor and they said it was just a bug. She's a lot better now.

So here I lay on the couch, nothing good on TV, well there is, but I can't watch it until Josh is around. I've recently become obsessed with the Food Network and all their shows. We watch the Next Food Network Star (I'm pulling for the greek god, I don't remember his name, maybe Jeff??), Iron Chef America, Chopped, the cake challenge show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, I could go on and on...

Josh and Abbi are on their way home now... Hopefully I'll get to bed early and stop feeling so sick!!

16 Fun Facts About Abbigail Peyton

Abbi turns 16 months today!! YIKES!! Where has the time gone?

1. Born at 12:15 am on February 2, 2008 and weighed 8 lbs 1 oz, 20.5 inches long.

2. Since she was born at night, it took about 2 – 3 weeks to get her on the right schedule. Fast forward to today, she still doesn’t sleep through the night. She's getting better though :O)

3. She drinks her sippy cup like she taking a shot. Her dad taught her that. We also use that munkin formula container for snacks. Instead of dumping the snacks out to eat, she wraps her mouth around in the hole and kicks her head back like she’s taking a shot. I’m so proud! Thanks Josh!

4. Can’t sleep without her “lovey”. It goes everywhere. I’m trying to train her to only have it when its time to take a nap or go to bed. Same story with her pacifier. So far she hasn’t been too upset with not having either.

5. She LOVES to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. She can do the dancey dance from the “New Friends” episode with Jack Black called the “Disco Roll”. She also loves their song called “Hold Still.” It’s the only way we can get her to stay still why we change her diaper.

6. When we want her to go somewhere, we tell her to “March, two, three, four, Hup, two, three, four” and she’ll walk.

7. She LOVES containers and anything that kinda resembles a puzzle. Whether is a box, basket, pregnancy test box, little crate, she loves to put things in it, carry it to one location, dump it out and repeat the process. She’s also obsessed with those BIG legos and these plastic eggs from Easter.

8. She can point to her nose, eyes, mouth and ears. It’s funny when she points to her ears because she plugs them and walks around like she can’t hear you.

9. She likes to go into our side room and is very sneaky. She’ll wait till we are not looking and then will make a break for it. If we are watching her closely, she’ll wave and do the whole look I’m cute, and then run off into the side room.

10. She LOVES books!! Her attention span has grown to where she’ll let you read the books to her a couple of times before getting bored.

11. She LOVES music!! We’ll sometimes put on the music stations on the television and watch her go! Josh is trying to teach her the “Stanky Leg”. It’s funny to watch her do it.

12. She likes to torment Baxter. She learned how to climb up on the couches by herself, so she’ll climb up and push Baxter off and then get down. She makes up for tormenting him by throwing his football for him.

13. Abbi knows a few words: mom, dad, what, dog, bye. She calls Josh “Josh” instead of dad. It irritates him and makes me laugh! She’ll also make a higher pitch “woof” for what the doggie says.

14. When she throws tantrums, she flops back and forth from her back to stomach. Occasionally she’ll stay on her back and will scoot herself across the room. Or she’ll go into another room and scream in there, come out to see if we were coming to get her and then go back in.

15. Loves to play hide and seek. She’s a better seeker then hider. Josh and I will go hide in a closet or behind a door and she’s learned to follow/find Baxter and then she can find us!

16. She got a new shirt a few weeks ago!
